Your x86 box running windows has hardware acceleration for that. Your Pi does not. Downloading from the web will likely involve both two lots of crypto on the Pi: decryption on download then encryption on transfer to the NAS.

On my router I have ports 5000; 5001; 6690 and 80 forwarded and open. The NAS is on its own dedicated IP, no DHCP. Everything wired, no WiFi.
