WebJan 11, 2016 · To fix your 5th gear nut you need to remove a few things in order to get to them. This will be done on my 1997 dodge Cummins 12v NV4500 2wd. If you own a 4wd, you will have to take the transfer case off instead of the tailshaft housing. I do not have a 4wd so cannot advise how to do it.
